A cataract is a clouded portion of the eye’s lens. Cataracts are extremely common as people age. In fact, more than half of all Americans aged 80 or older have cataracts or have had cataract removal surgery.
You may not first notice that you have cataracts. However, cataracts can cause eyesight to become foggy, cloudy, and less vibrant over time. You may have difficulty reading and performing other common tasks.
